Gibraltar

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory on the south coast of Spain known for the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m limestone ridge at its centre. Gibraltar occupies 7 sq. km of a peninsula bordered to the north by the region of Andalusia. First settled by Moors in the Middle Ages and later ruled by Spain, the outpost was joined to Britain in 1713. Gibraltar has its own airport where the main road across the peninsula runs directly across the runaway.

Explore the Upper Rock Nature Reserve: meet the Barbary macaques, see the chambers of St Michael's Cave and walk the Great Siege Tunnels, dug by hand in the 1780s. Reach the reserve on a guided minibus tour, on foot or by the new electric shuttle. The cable car is closed for a rebuild and is expected to reopen in 2027. A Nature Reserve ticket is £30 per adult (2026).

Head south to Europa Point and its lighthouse for views across the Strait to Morocco, then spend the afternoon on a dolphin-watching trip from the marina or browsing Main Street's duty-free shops. Fit walkers can tackle the Mediterranean Steps on the Rock's eastern side, starting at Jews' Gate.

After breakfast on board, make your way to the airport, just minutes away, for your flight home to the UK.
