Majorca is perfect for a beach stop, a wander around Palma the capital, a visit to the mountains and the monastery of Valldemossa – one time home of Chopin.

Spend the day between the hotel's pools and the beach, just 50 metres away. Bring high-factor sun cream: summer sunshine here is strong.

Take a short bus or taxi ride from Magaluf to Palma to see La Seu, the Gothic cathedral overlooking the sea, which has interior touches by Gaudí. Then wander the old town's lanes and squares before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Ride the 1912 wooden train from Palma over the Tramuntana mountains to Sóller, a town set among orange groves, and continue by tram to the port. Alternatively, stay at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing day by the pool. Excursions are not included and can be booked locally.

Enjoy a day at your own pace: try water sports in the bay, take a boat trip along the coast, or spend a family day at a nearby water park.

Take a day trip to the Caves of Drach on the east coast, home to an underground lake and a classical concert inside, or visit the mountain village of Valldemossa, where Chopin spent a winter in 1838. Return to your hotel in time for dinner.

A final full day to relax by the pool or on the beach, followed by a last evening stroll along the seafront.

After breakfast, make your way to the airport, around 20–30 minutes by road, for your flight home to the UK.
